Hebrews 6:4 - 6:6

Bible Study

"For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit,
and have tasted the good Word of God
and the powers of the world to come,
and who have fallen away; it is impossible, I say, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify the Son of God afresh to themselves and put Him to an open shame."

Hebrews 6:4 - 6:6

Hebrews 6:4 - 6:6 is one of the most misunderstood verse selection of Scripture. It is often cited as proof that Eternal Security is an invalid teaching. If taken out of context, it would seem to support this claim. However, verses of Scripture must be considered not only in the context of the chapter, they are a part of, but also in the overall context of Holy Scripture. That is the scope of this Bible study.

Understanding Hebrews 6:4 - 6:6

To understand Hebrews 6:4 - 6:6 , it is necessary to ascertain the overall salvation teachings of its writer, the Apostle Paul. Since Holy Scripture is one complete God inspired writing, it is also necessary to understand the Bible's salvation teaching. Only then can a Bible Study  present an accurate interpretation of this group of verses.
